Instrumental Music

At MPSC, students can be involved in Music through many opportunities. Classroom Music is offered as a core subject at Year 8 and as an elective at Years 9 and 10. During Years 11 & 12, senior students may study Music through VCE Music Performance and VET Music.

As well as these great in class opportunities, students at all year levels 7 to 12 may elect to formally learn a musical instrument through the Instrumental Music Program.

Instruments available for study include:

  • Voice
  • Drum-kit
  • Guitar
  • Bass Guitar
  • Keyboard
  • Brass and Woodwind.

There are many extra-curricular opportunities in Music. These include both self-directed and college directed bands and ensembles for: Voice, Guitar, Percussion, Brass & Woodwind Ensembles, Rhythm Bands, Rock Bands and many more. Ensembles and solo performers are able to participate in many performance opportunities including lunchtime and assembly performances, College Song & Dance Night, College Arts Festival, Campus Music Events, Eisteddfods, Awards Nights, Orientation Programs and Mill Park Idol.

The Music program also encourages students to write and develop original music and participate in the Kool Skools Recording Project.
