Physical Education

Physical Education at Mill Park is a co-curricular activity.  It is offered to all students in Years 7-12 and includes major carnivals, team sports and individual sports.  Competition is structured into House and inter-school activities.

Major intra-school carnivals in the form of House competitions are held during Terms 1 and 2.  Athletics and Swimming are held during Term 1, and the cross country which is run as a fun run is held in Term 2. Students who are successful go on to represent the school at the LaTrobe District Sectional Finals, which lead onto the Northern Zone Finals and the Victorian Secondary Schools Sports Association (VSSSA) State Finals.

Team and individual sports occur in Terms 1, 2 and 3.  Students attend practice sessions during lunchtimes or after school.  When teams are selected, students from Years 7 & 8 participate in a sport Round Robin against schools of the LaTrobe District.  Students from Years 9/10 and 11/12 participate with the same schools on a Round Robin day of competition.  Successful teams go on to compete at the Northern Zone and then the VSSSA Final.

Sports offered in addition to swimming, athletics and cross country are:

Volleyball, Tennis, Cricket, Soccer, Badminton, Hockey, Basketball, Table Tennis, Football, Golf, Netball, Squash, Softball and Baseball.
