Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program (SEALP)

Mill Park Secondary College offers a Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) Program for gifted and talented students which begins in Year 7 and continues throughout their secondary schooling.

The program caters for gifted and talented students who are characterised by an advanced speed of learning and a capacity for remarkably high standards of performance compared to students of the same age.

Students are placed in accelerated classes enjoying the intellectual stimulation of students with similar learning profiles and stay in their cohort until their own personal selection of subjects based on individual interests and areas of strength determine their classes.

The curriculum provides faster paced. Rigorous, research and problem solving based learning. As students accelerate through year levels, additional areas of study may be undertaken.

The SEAL Program at Mill Park Secondary College aims to provide flexibility and freedom of choice:

  •  Students complete their first four years of secondary schooling in three
  • Students may choose to complete their VCE studies earlier
  • Students may choose to use the time gained though acceleration to broaden their VCE studies and boost their ENTER score
  • Students may elect to study university units whilst completing Year 12
