- A safe and secure learning environment, close to where International Students will be living, from their first days in Melbourne.
- Greater opportunities for development of students’ abilities in English and their understanding of the Australian school environment.
- Fully-qualified secondary school English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers who are regular staff of the College .
- Students’ health and wellbeing is monitored by the College’s International Student Coordinator.
- Fewer transition issues when students are ready to commence regular subject studies.
In the interests of students’ academic performance, health and wellbeing, the College encourages prospective International Students, their parents and agents to consider the abovementioned benefits.
Once students commence their regular program of subject studies, the English Language Centre provides classes for ongoing ESL support to meet the language-learning needs of whatever subjects students choose; those classes may be in place of another subject.
All students are required to study core English, especially to obtain the VCE. Most International Students will be eligible for VCE English (ESL) - this is a separate subject with dedicated classes for students who have had less than seven years of english-medium education.
All students are counselled with regard to subject selection, especially for the VCE, and in relation to future tertiary studies and careers.
